We bought this for my 6 year old son, and he absolutely loves it. His 12 year old sister rides it too, only when her brother is not home. They fight over it. My 6 year old had no problems handling this bike. The battery lasts for almost 40 minutes and it is small enough to store in the house. It runs very smooth and quiet, as we were up at the crack of dawn so he could ride it.We were very impressed with the quality and ease of use.

I was nervous about buying this bike for my 10 year old’s birthday, especially since the recommended age was much higher than his, but he loves it! Actually, we all love riding it (carries up to 175 lbs!). It being electric also make me nervous, but it’s awesome! I totally recommended it. I do think that he would have been too big for the smaller size motorbike recommended for his age, this one fits him perfect and the amount of power is not too much for him to handle.

Like everyone else mentions I was somewhat skeptical. It seemed like you had a 50/50 shot of getting a good motorcycle. We bought this for our nine year olds birthday. I was pleased that it came in good condition. They must have seen the complaints because the box it shipped in was pretty heavy duty. The only trouble I had putting it together was that I started reading the 350 model directions instead of the 500. Once I got that figured out it was a piece of cake. It has run great ever since. We have had it almost a month now with no issues whatsoever. My son really likes it because it not too fast or too slow….just right. It is very well made and heavier than I expected. If you are thinking about purchasing one I would highly recommend it.

I was looking for a motorcycle to ride around the neighborhood for my 9 year old daughter than wouldn’t disturb the neighbors. We have motorcycles to ride in the desert but they are much to noisy to ride around homes. The Razor MX 500 fit the bill. The motor is strong and the suspension can take two up riding. The only problem I can foresee is that the battery clunks when riding off curbs. The battery holder may break after a while with a steady diet of jumps.

Bought this for my 11 year old son and he is on it everyday. Note on sizing – I would disregard the recommended ages provided by Razor – I wouldn’t recommend this size for anyone older than 11 – it would just be too small. I used to ride dirt bikes when I was a kid and was a bit skeptical w/ an electric. But he has put put this thing through the ringer and it has performed very well. Only glitch we encountered was the rear brake locked at one point but it was a relatively easy fix. Overall very pleased.

WE HAD GOTTEN THE MX350 FOR OUR 7 AND 9 YR OLDS, BASED ON MANUFACTURER’S SUGGESTION.
WE FOUND THAT IT WAS TOO SMALL AND AFTER DOING FURTHER RESEARCH, DECIDED TO GET THE MX500. IT WAS THE PERFECT SIZE. THE PRODUCT CAME IN 3 DAYS AND IT WAS EASY TO COMPLETE THE ASSEMBLY. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT SO FAR, AND THE SERVICE PROVIDED.

We bought this for our 7 y/o daughter for Christmas. She has not gotten off this thing since!
I was worried at first about the size and how heavy it is but she has not had any problems. She has laid it over on the grass before but was able to get it back up by herself. It does go pretty fast. No problems with the battery either. The length of the charge probably depends on the weight of the person riding it (she is on 50#) so she rides a long time before having to plug it in to recharge (which is also simple and she keeps up with this herself).

Arrived with all the parts necessary and was put together in about 30 minutes. Son had a great time on this bike for about 10 days of gentle riding. then the chain broke. Went on to Razors website and found the part out of stock. Waited for several weeks then called the company who told me to call an authorized service center in my area. the service center said they don’t have parts either they can only put the chains on.
The service center also mentioned what a pathetic track record Razor has. Thjis will be the last Razor product I ever buy. Get your act together Razor if you’re going to make a product that falls apart at least have the parts available to fix it. I cannot recommend this because of poor quality poor customer service. If you want your kids disappointed then perhaps this is the bike for you. Otherwise get them a well made dirt bike. As soon as the chain comes in I’m going to sell this expensive piece of junk. BTW this is a re-review. I originally gave this bike 5 stars because I reviewed it to early. I should have waited a few weeks before revieewing it.
